Vipra Foundation Sikar submitted a memorandum to District Collector Shri Ashish Modi, addressed to Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, seeking EWS rights and political representation.
The memorandum demanded political representation for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in the upcoming panchayat and urban local body elections, the formation of a state-level EWS commission, regular review of the eligibility and certificate process, and an increase in EWS reservation from 10% to 18%, keeping in view the population of the general category.
Led by District President Shri Jaiprakash Sharma, senior office bearers and community members urged the government to take early, positive decisions on these pending demands and to ensure effective protection of the constitutional rights of the economically weaker general category.
